Room for Improvement:

Greater Than Aids “is a leading public information response to the US domestic HIV/AIDS Epidemic”. This organization is founded by Henry J. Kaiser of the Kaiser Family Foundation in 2009. They strive into being a support system for people with HIV/AIDS.
Remarks:
The site provides basic information on HIV and AIDS. It also provides guidance on how to talk openly about HIV/AIDS or open up the discussion. The site talks about treatment and the side effects one may experience when undergoing treatment. Although the site does not have its own clinical facilities it does provide a locator option to search services offered near you. The site is easy to navigate. It is nice that they break down some terms so people understand the information easily.
Room for improvement:
A suggestion would be that they should have their own health centers and facilities.

The Wall-Las Memorias
Description:
The Wall-Las Memorias is a non-profit community health and wellness organization, that has been running for nearly twenty years, that is “dedicated to serving Latino, LGBT, and other
underserved populations through advocacy, education and building the next generation of leadership.” They provide health services pertaining to HIV/AIDS and mental health. The
Wall-Las Memorias Project was made to serve low-income and hard to reach communities throughout Los Angeles. Other than teaching about the importance of HIV/AIDS, Las Memorias also educates people on substance abuse prevention and community building in the LGBT community.
Remarks:
Most resources for HIV/AIDS are in high-income communities while this one is in a low-income community that helps low-income families. There is a volunteer program to get the community involved in local community and injustice issues affecting Los Angeles. An AIDS Monument is installed in Lincoln Park, with more than 300 names of people who have died of AIDS complications engraved in it. It has other programs such as mental health and substance abuse. It is interesting that they include “connect with a buddy” program to help people know behaviors on how to prevent HIV/AIDS. The website for the organization also includes links to other websites that contain more detailed information pertaining to HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, counseling, as well as government resources. Which is good for those looking for more information on the topic.
Room for Improvement:
The statistics provided are a bit outdated. The website itself looks to not have been updated for a few years. The website contains some links that are kind of repetitive, that only give a brief and general explanation of things that are later repeated in other links. It also lacks new medical treatments in preventing HIV like the drug Prep a now common drug.
