Hung Jen Kuo is an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Services. He received his PhD in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University. Before coming to Cal State LA, he was a faculty in the Rehabilitation Counseling program at Michigan State University. His research interests surround promoting evidence based practices and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. Specifically, he is currently involved in several projects concerning educational interventions for transition-aged individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). In addition, with his background and experience in technology, he is also involved in projects using assistive technology (e.g., virtual reality) to promote quality of life for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities. His work can also be seen in areas including clinical supervision, psychoeducation for caregivers, and public vocational rehabilitation services. Dr. Kuo has taught many courses including Medical Aspect of Disability, Case Management, Diversity and Awareness, Counseling Theory, and Practicum and Internship.
